We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing.

U.S. Muslims Applaud Powell's Condemnation of Anti-Muslim Prejudice
LOS ANGELES (AP) Former Secretary of State Colin Powell's denunciation of prejudice against American Muslims is being applauded by a religious group that feels it's become a target of hatred and suspicion.
On NBC's "Meet the Press" last Sunday, Powell said, "Is there something wrong with being a Muslim in this country? The answer's no, that's not America."
The executive director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council, Salam al-Marayati, says Powell's words offered much-needed reassurance to American Muslims, especially in this election year.
Al-Marayati says the presidential candidates "don't meet with Muslim organizations, and they shy away from any issue that may link them to the Muslim community."
Al-Marayati also denounced the mass mailing of a DVD titled "Obsession," which warns of Islamic extremism. He said it "basically equates Islam with Nazism."
