Atheists Tried to Stop Baptisms in Catholic Church in Italy

(FNF) Christian baptisms of children in Italy are no longer threatened now that an atheism promoting organization has dropped it's lawsuit demanding they be banned.

Pro-family leaders are outraged by atheists so-called concerns.

"They worry about Christians and baptizing their children. We should be worried about what Dawkins and company are doing," says Catholic League president Phil Donahue.

Richard Dawkins and other leading atheists make concerted efforts to promote atheism. Donahue says atheist leaders worldwide feel emboldened.

"No longer are we talking about people who are somewhat indifferent to religion. We're talking about religion haters. And of course when [it] comes to hating religion the gold prize tends to be Christianity," states Donahue.

The U.S. based Alliance Defense Fund defended a bishop and the Roman Catholic church. ADF's Joe Infranco warns that just because this case is in Italy it won't have an impact here.

"We do have American courts increasingly sighting foreign authority and saying we need to consider what the rest of the world is doing," says Infranco.

He notes foreign influence in the first same-sex marriage decision in this country.

"There was no precedent in this country of any sort, so the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, the high court there, sighted to Canadian authority, because they had no U.S. authorities," states Infranco.
